Here we go!

I'm so excited to welcome you to our classroom blog/website!  I hope that you'll find information here that will be helpful to you as we spend the rest of the school year together.  My goal is to add a blog post at least once a week to let you know what kinds of things we've been doing in our classroom, as well as upcoming events.  Please keep in mind that the pages are a work in progress.  I've added basic information to get us started, and will continue to add more throughout the school year.

I've slowly been putting some changes in place since Mrs. Horn went out on her maternity leave.  I'll use this space to keep you updated as I continue this process.  Most of the children have embraced the changes wholeheartedly!  Of course, change is very hard for some people, including children, so I've tried to not make too many changes all at once.  It's hard enough having a beloved teacher leave! 

Did the kids tell you that they got to talk on the phone with Mrs. Horn last week?  We were going to try to Skype with her on the Smartboard, but couldn't get that working.  So then we tried doing Facetime on our iPhones (the kids really wanted to SEE her!) but couldn't get good enough reception in the building.  Finally we had to settle for a good, old fashioned phone call.  The kids were SO excited to talk to Mrs. Horn and hear how she's doing!  Hopefully her precious babies will be here very soon...we're looking forward to seeing lots of pictures and maybe getting a visit later in the school year :)

I am really enjoying getting to know your children and spending time with them each day.  You have great kids!
